WHY CHOOSE OUR CAMP?
You should choose Little Pals Camp because of Our Staff,
Our Programs and Our Facility & Grounds!
Little Pals Summer Camp is entering its 14th year in business. Each year we strive to do our very best to make your child's Summer experience wonderful - full of laughter, fun, and learning. Every week new experiences will focus on sensing the world around us through exploration, imagination, nature study, music and movement. Activities will not only allow campers to explore the great outdoors, but to share and discover their inner, natural talents, all of which will stimulate and encourage an appreciation of nature while developing their minds, self-image and self-worth.
Each week different themes offer our Campers - Explorer, Adventurer and Performer groups, ample opportunity to imagine, move, perform, laugh, play, create and make friends, while expanding their minds. Throughout camp, Adventurers & Performers will be encouraged to document what they learn and experience through the written word, while expanding their vocabulary and language.
Again this year OC Entertainment, Inc. will be bringing in added fun weekly by the way of water slides, inflatables and Carnival Games, as well as optional camp adventures including a mining expedition and archery.
Our staff is a team of experienced and dedicated Counselors (teachers, college students/future teachers and assistants) under the Direction of Angela A. Nardo, MS-CCC-SLP. Miss Angela collaborates with Miss Melissa Nardo Graziano and Miss Jessica Nardo to develop activities and curriculum that will help the children expand their knowledge while making memories that will last a lifetime. Miss Melissa has been the Assistant Director and Head Teacher of our Three-Year Old Program since its inception. Her smile and energy can be infectious and bring out the joy in all campers. Miss Jessica has a degree in Psychology, she's a certified Yoga Instructor and has training in occupational therapy principles which is advantageous in helping the team develop activities that inspire and encourage fine and gross motor development. Furthermore, Miss Jessica is also the creative force behind our team bringing out the inner strength and self-expression in our campers. Many of our wonderful, LPP trained staff are involved all summer to make your child feel loved, comfortable and cared for. The rest of our counselors are college students training to be our future teachers, as well some of our after school staff who work at Little Pals during the year. We have been so fortunate to have our Counselors return year after year. They look forward to seeing many of the children return and delight in seeing how they have grown. Key staff members are CPR & First Aid trained.
Performers: 8-12 years old, Entering 1st-5th grades
As a result of the popularity of our Performance Week with our campers, Little Pals is initiating a Performing Arts Program for our older children. It will include weekly sessions in movement, theatre, music, storytelling, singing, dancing, video-shop, creations, magic and more. Campers will also participate in our usual Counselor led activities such as: arts & crafts, water and sports games, yoga and team fun!! Each week long session will end with performances put together by the campers themselves. The Performers will create the props, scenes and costumes with the help of the Head Counselor to guide in writing, rehearsing and performing. We are all looking forward to our new Program’s potential to inspire creativity and self-expression, as well as, self-confidence in our children.
Adventurers: 8-12 years old, Entering 1st-5th grades
Explorers 1: 3 by December 2019
Explorers 2: entering Pre-K and entering Kindergarten
Each week new experiences will focus on sensing the world around us through exploration, imagination, sound and motion. Explorers and Adventurers will learn the skills to develop an awareness and respect of the outdoors through the use of maps and compasses, discovering and building animal habitats, cooking, sounds and music. Activities will not only allow campers to explore the great outdoors but to share and discover their inner, natural talents, all of which will stimulate and encourage an appreciation of nature while developing their minds, self-image and self-worth. Campers will also participate in arts & crafts, water and sports games, yoga and team fun!!
Each week different themes offer our Explorers and Adventurers ample opportunity to imagine, move, perform, laugh, play, create and make friends while expanding their minds. Throughout camp the children will be encouraged to document what they learn and experience through the written word, while expanding their vocabulary and language.
All campers will have an opportunity to be a part of our special add-on events such as a Mining and Panning Expedition and Archery (inflatable) hosted by OC Entertainment (please note an extra fee applies to these events).
OUR FACILITY & GROUNDS
Our Facility is clean, bright and safe. Our well equipped, fenced in shady playground offers children lots of fun, as well as opportunities for gross motor activities. We have acres of shady grass fields perfect for lots of sports, obstacle courses, fun water activities, relaxing hammocks and tents to ponder in. Weekly, OC Entertainment brings in water slides, inflatables and carnival games. Also, the children will get an opportunity to engage in a special mining and panning event and a special archery day (extra fee for these events).
All of our doors are locked, and are under surveillance along with our grounds and playground. Parents and visitors must be buzzed in and must have proper identification to have a child released to them. We are a NYS licensed Daycare so we adhere to stringent regulations on sanitation, curriculum and teacher/child ratios. Furthermore, we are registered with the NYS Education Department.
